Usu Ropeway\"><\/p>\n<p>A one-way trip up is a 6-minute journey.<br \/>\n\tAt the summit there are two observation areas. From the &#8220;Lake Toya Observation Deck&#8221; on the right side, you have a superior view of Mt.Showa-shinzan and Lake Toya far below.  A 7-minute walk to the left brings you to the &#8220;Usu Crater Basin Observation Deck&#8221; from which you can observe the crater that caused a major eruption in 1977 and the rising steam from its vents.
